Bass and Newsom Sign Tear Gas Canisters with Messages to Peaceful Protestors

LOS ANGELES—In an effort to encourage the public to exercise their first amendment rights, Mayor Karen Bass and Governor Gavin Newsom have signed LAPD tear gas canisters headed to protestors throughout Los Angeles. Their thoughtful messages include:
Thanks for protesting peacefully.
We are moved by your tears.
Calm down, it’s only a little chemical weapon.
Federal forces would be way worse maybe.
Trump’s dismantling the healthcare you need to survive these things.
How could you do this? Think of my World Cup.
Stop acting surprised, you saw what we did to college kids.
Please don’t remember your second amendment rights.
Can you chip in $10 to save democracy?
Daddy says it’s past your bedtime.
Newsom and Bass praise the LAPD while they liberally launch tear gas into peaceful protestors. This indiscriminately exposes everyone in the area to the chemical weapon, which can cause serious immediate and long-term health problems and environmental damage.
